Cotham School arranged its first Programming Jam between Backwell School and the North Bristol Post 16 Centre. The event was hosted at the Bristol University Computer Science department on the 12th December between 1.30pm and 5pm.
The Programming Jam was a friendly programming competition between the best post 16 programming students from each centre.
Before the programming challenge began students were given a tour of the university and demonstrations of the final year computing projects from current Bristol University students. They were also given a talk from IBM who attended the event and judged the competition.
After the tour and talks the students were set the challenge of coding and an Artificial Intelligence for a Connect 4 Game. They worked in pairs to try and complete the task.
The winning team was a pair of students from Cotham School.
