Digimakers 2016
Programming an Arcade game

On Saturday 11th June, Cotham School hosted a programing workshop at Digimakers a technology event run by Bristol University and hosted at At-Bristol. The workshop was run by Mr Watts, Mr Lawrence and six KS3 students from Cotham.

Cotham took their arcade cabinet project to the event and ran two workshops on how to program games for the cabinet. Children had a go at creating their own playable version of Pacman which was then uploaded for them onto the arcades which they could then play. The children taking part were assisted and guided by Cotham students, all of which are members of the after school programming club.

It was an extremely positive event with the cabinets getting a lot of attention.
Digimakers is a series of free hands on workshops for children (aged 7-18), parents and educators interested in being creative with electronics and computing. The events run regularly and it is free for students to sign up and attend. Click here for more details: http://www.digimakers.co.uk/
